Frequently Asked Questions
What is Forgotten Games?

We host old PC games known commonly referred to as "abandonware." While still under copyright, many of these game developers do not exist anymore and most of these fine works of art are unattainable except for sites like these. We do not host ESA-protected games.
Where can I get manuals, codes, & other documentation?

If we don't have it, check out replacementdocs.com, they have a HUGE database of game documents, manuals, box scans, you name it.
Why can't I play most of these games?

You need a DOS emulator. Windows 2000/XP/Vista won't play most of these games by themselves. Try DOSBOX or D-Fend Reloaded
I can't get DOSBox working.

There's a great tutorial for installing and setting up DOSBox on the DOSBox website.
What do you use to build your site?

Notepad++ for the pages, Paintshop Pro 7 & Photoshop CS2 for the images.
What are ESA protected games?

Games produced by members of the Entertainment Software Association are protected by law and we are unable to host these games.
